A strong cold front will cross the waters this afternoon followed by strong west to northwest winds. The combination of a tightened gradient and cold air advection associated with Arctic high pressure, will keep winds quite active across the area into Wed. The center of the high will slide south of the area Thu resulting in winds remaining active across the area waters. The next strong cold frontal passage will occur during Fri. $$
